The Punks
Beth Kellerhals (she/her)
- Owner/Chef
Beth's built her reputation on serving up delicious biscuits, pies, scones, and other sweet and savory treats for close to 20 years - from Chicago to Los Angeles and now to Asheville, NC. After 3 years in China teaching English, Beth returned to the US and enrolled in the French Pastry School in Chicago, where she laid the foundation for the pastry career to come. A move to Los Angeles is when Beth and Dana found each other, where they worked as a team for over 3 years, and launched not only restaurants, but the friendship of a lifetime. Beth's pastries have been featured in LA Weekly, LA List, The LA Times, Los Angeles Magazine, The Boston Globe, Mountain Xpress, and The Citizen Times. After many years being a roaming bakery, Beth is thrilled to finally make a permanent home with the opening of ButterPunk.
Dana Amromin (she/her)
- Owner
After getting her diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts from Le Cordon Bleu in Los Angeles, Dana’s work brought her to Beth’s kitchen door in 2010, where they worked together making desserts for Chef Roy Choi and Chef Brooke Williamson’s restaurant concepts. After her tenure as Beth’s Sous, Dana spent her next 8 years in Seattle working as Pastry Sous for Chef Rachel Yang’s restaurant group, as well as running the ice cream program for 6 Cupcake Royale cafes. Covid took her on the road, where she worked at the Stanley Supper Club in Idaho, as well as in the wilds of Alaska as the Pastry Chef at Within the Wild’s Winterlake Lodge. Now settled in Asheville, Dana is co-owner of ButterPunk with Beth, as well as the Chef at West Asheville’s Potential New Boyfriend.
